This year was very different to most with such a lockdown, no prep comps, very little comp preparation yet all our students that attended medalled and stood on the podium.
For all these students it was their first big comp so nerves were running high and I could not be prouder of their performance, hopefully training can continue uninterrupted and the rest of the comp team can get into some preparation comps and comp training which we do 1 hour per week can continue in preparation for the AFBJJ Australian Championships.
The coaches did a sensational job of organisation and support for these new competitors and deserve huge congratulations.
A couple of the boys ( brothers ) got interviewed and an article done about them in the local paper which was great for them. I also want to thank Caleb in his first time as a coach at major events, Caleb is Multi time State, National and Pan Pacific Kids Champion and this year decided rather than compete he wanted to focus on helping and coaching the new comp guys…. I am very, very proud of him for taking on this challenge
